I had hoped to announce the long-term future of this web site, but that has not proved possible.

Pattern additions

The new patterns are listed in the file.

Other additions

Two papers have been added as follows:

The first is: Tilingsearch.org: A searchable repository of Islamic geometric patterns. This paper sums up the experience in designing this web site, including some tricky issues.
The second is: Tilingsearch.org: Four issues. This is a version of a verbal presentation made at the same conference as above, but undertaken virtually.

The work Mustafa Bulut who has undertake a comprehensive survey of the Seljuk patterns in Turkey, see [bulut] which has now been used where relevant to add to the web site. The Turkish index as now been revised in consequence. Also Mamoun Sakkal has used his knowledge of Syria to revise the location index for that part of the collection. Tony Lee has used his knowledge of the Alhambra to assign each part of the appropriate part of the palace.

Future plans

I am still investigating the possibility of an institution taking over the site and would hope to have this resolved shortly. Note that this site is archived via the British Library facility, see here.
